Halloween 2008
"Nothing on earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night!"-Steve Almond
We had a fun Halloween. It was nice and warm (in the high50s instead of our usual freezing blizzard). Nick and Alex are too old to trick-or-treat--though I think Alex went around gathering candy. Spencer's 5th grade class had a wax museum for Halloween, and he had to pick a famous historical figure, so he picked John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln's assa
ssin. I think he was the only kid that wasn't a hero in the wax museum. He had a mustache earlier in the day, but it was too itchy...so he said he was an old-time gangster.
Here's Spencer with his friends...a motley crew.
Bekah decided to be a nerd for Halloween. She even got to wear her costume to school. She put a "kick me" sign on her back, but said she took it off at lunch after people kept taking her up on it. Isn't she just adorable? Stephanie liked her costume so much she borrowed it for her Halloween Bunco night. Jared accused her of borrowing his stuff to look nerdy. Do you s
Bekah and her friends at Halloween 2008.

Since Stephanie couldn't wear Bekah's costume on Halloween, she pulled out her authentic 1960s Laugh In dress and dressed go-go style that night. Jared said he preferred the go-go girl to the nerd :) It's amazing what a new hairstlye and different clothes can do for you.
Jared ended up answering the door and eventually taking a nap after the 8pm crowd dissapated. Next year we're planning a big Halloween party!

Last week of Summer

What a crazy summer this has been in the Pinegar family. I can't believe it is nearly over. Life is way too fast! Nick went on Heritage Tours ( a 3 week church/American history tour for graduated seniors). Then came back and started a job for PPM. Alex worked for various people all summer--along with a trip to Idaho to AFY (Adventures for Youth) where we river rafted, rock climbed and rode horses. Rebekah and Spencer both swam for Hilltop Aquatics--each qualifiying for the state swim meet and placing in their events. Then Spencer started football immediately after....We are busy!
Jared has been busy with work...the medical building in Payson, the motel in Mt. Pleasant and property down south, along with our rentals. He does find time to run the mountains behind us. He is busier than he has ever been.
I am the official driver for the kids. I thought with Nick and Alex getting a license they would have time to drive the kids--but they are never home because of work. So we bought a new car with better gas mileage and I drive and drive. I also entered 2 more 5ks and finally got under 30 mins. My new record is 28:21....slowly but surely. And of course we had our yearly lake powell trek.....fun!!!

Oh What a Beautiful Morning

We're starting out our holidays the right way...with family. My brother, Adam and his wife Mandy are visiting from Missouri. My kids are so happy they have cousins visiting. So it is a non-stop festival of parties, get-togethers and outings. We'll post the pics as we take them. This is my first time to blog...hopefully this will work and our family and friends will be able to see what's going on in the Pinegar's lives. We're all growing up so fast!

Adam, Mandy and Olivia (who had an encounter with a dog while she visited.)
